Position: Full-Time Large Animal Veterinary Technician/Assistant
Valley View Veterinary Services is a busy, rural mixed animal practice. We’re looking for a hardworking, reliable Large Animal Veterinary Technician/Assistant with a love for animals who isn’t afraid of long days, physical work, or getting dirty.
What the Job Really Looks Like
· Assisting veterinarians on high-volume farm calls and in-clinic large animal work
· Handling and restraining cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and other livestock
· Drawing up and administering medications, collecting samples, and prepping for procedures
· Loading, unloading, cleaning, and stocking trucks and equipment
· Helping keep records organized in a fast-paced setting
· Working outdoors in all weather conditions
· This is a hands-on, physical role where no two days are the same.
What We’re Looking For
· Prior large animal technician/assistant experience is a plus; some livestock experience/handling required
· Comfortable around cattle and horses (you don’t need to know everything — just be willing to learn)
· Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work efficiently under pressure
· Ability to lift, restrain animals, and be on your feet most of the day
· Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
