What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise crews of 2–6 employees on utility construction projects.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly work activities to maximize productivity.
- Identify and resolve job-site challenges while keeping projects on schedule.
- Ensure equipment, vehicles, and tools are maintained and operating properly.
- Train and develop crew members in all phases of utility construction.
- Communicate project progress, staffing, and equipment needs to management.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment.
- Complete daily documentation and oversee job-site cleanup.
- Operate and oversee equipment, including directional drills, backhoes, trenchers, plows, tampers, and related machinery.
- Set up and maintain safe work zones with proper signage, barricades, and traffic control devices.
What We're Looking For
- 1–2+ years of utility construction experience as a Directional Drill Operator and/or Foreman.
- Ability to read and interpret CATV and telephone prints.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of utility safety standards and construction best practices.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; Class A CDL preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing job-site conditions and lead by example.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ pounds.
- Frequent bending, digging, shoveling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
