Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding tasks across various projects, ensuring all work meets safety standards, technical specifications, and industry codes. Your expertise will contribute to building durable structures, piping systems, and equipment that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and pipe welding using appropriate techniques based on project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Execute pipe threading, pipe fitting, assembly, and installation of piping systems including fire sprinkler systems, HVAC ducts, and plumbing setups in accordance with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations by following safety protocol adherence, wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and practicing power tool safety during all operations.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, measuring tapes, and schematics to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving pipe bending, tube fabrication, rigging, and maintenance tasks to meet project deadlines efficiently.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and welding techniques with demonstrated experience in pipe welding applications.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, pipe threading, pipefitting, plumbing installation, and sprinkler system setup.
- Familiarity with power tools such as grinders, drills, calipers, pipe benders, and tube bending equipment; knowledge of power tool safety is essential.
- Ability to interpret technical documents including schematics and construction plans; basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience working on construction sites or manufacturing facilities with a focus on safety regulations and NFPA standards compliance.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to pipeline fabrication and welding; understanding of HVAC systems is a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while maintaining high safety standards during all phases of work.
