Job description
Safety Technician directs the company's safety programs to protect employees against harm, and maintain safe working conditions. Formulates and suggests work safety standards, and enforces procedures. Risk prevention areas include hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions.
Job Description:
· Collect data on work environments within the company
· Assist Safety Manager in implementing programs
· Conduct evaluation of work areas designed to limit chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks to employees
· Conduct administrative duties to include scheduling appointments for employees
· Maintain employee’s medical records
· Clinical duties may include taking & recording vital signs, maintaining medical histories, and escorting individuals for urinary analysis.
· Coordinate with medical personnel to assist with employees for medical examinations, and administering medications as directed.
· Document all audit findings with the Safety Manager.
· Perform various other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- CPR/AED/First Aid certified or able to obtain within 6 months of being hired on
- OSHA 10 in general industry
- OSHA 30 in general industry
- Ability to read, write, speak English
- · Bilingual preferred but not necessary
- · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- · Exceptional problem solving skills, good decision making skills and attention to detail.
- · Ability to work independently within the work environment
- · Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
- · Ability to climb ladders & stairs required
- · Drive company vehicles if necessary
- · Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Access), applicant tracking systems.
- · Medical Experience preferred but not required.
