Assists with management, including handling day-to-day operations, of a
school program to plan, organize, coordinate, implement, and evaluate
services associated with the Philomath High School (Philomath School
District) career development program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exercises judgement to manage daily operations of the Career Center in a manner consistent with administrative direction, district policies, procedures, and district goals.

In coordination with school counseling staff, guides college planning for high school students providing specific information regarding college selection, entrance requirements and placement, admission, and applications to students, parents, and staff.

Under general direction of the administrator, coordinates the scheduling of events involving career and college selection and guidance such as symposiums, speakers, and conferences in order to provide students with accurate, up-to-date knowledge of optionsavailable.

Collaborates with school counselors to organize financial aid night for students and parents, providing information about financial aid applications and packages, loans, and scholarships and general information about financial planning for college.

Under guidance of school counselors, plans and organizes annual awards night ceremony for graduating seniors, working with sponsors, staff, and administrators. (PHS Honors Convocation)

Assists with school/ program communications, both oral and written, in a manner that supports effective decision making, including dispensing career and college information to counselors, students, and parents.

Maintains, stores, and retrieves information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard and proprietary office systems, equipment, and software, in relation to student scholarship applications, college selection, vocational guidance, and career search.

Under guidance of school counselors, plans and organizes administration of placement examinations (e.g., AP, SAT, PSAT).

Interprets policy and procedures, within district guidelines, for staff, students, parents, and others, in a timely and accurate manner.

Supervises students outside the classroom, as assigned, to support instructional programs.

Provides other related services as assigned.

CONTRACT:
Part-time, 20 hrs/week on all student contact days during the regular school year (in response to approved district calendar). Salary and benefits per the Classified negotiated agreement.
