Supply Management Planner – John Deere (Waterloo, IA)
This is an outstanding, highly stable 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $25/hr, including 1 week of PTO. Operating 100% onsite on 1st shift in Waterloo, IA, you will manage purchased parts delivery across internal and external suppliers, executing daily schedules and resolving material bottlenecks.
Position Details & Compensation
- Pay Rate: Up to $25/hr (W2).
- Location: 100% Onsite at John Deere (Waterloo, IA).
- Duration: 1+ Years (Providing solid multi-year contract stability).
- Shift & Hours: 1st Shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with potential for overtime).
- Benefits: 1 Week PTO, Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, and Referral Bonuses.
- Dress Code: Business casual.
- Travel/Mobility: Potential requirement to drive between local Waterloo sites or other Deere locations using a personal vehicle.

Core Responsibilities
- Purchased Parts Management: Manage and oversee the end-to-end delivery process of purchased parts across one or more factory locations for both internal and external suppliers.
- Supplier & Internal Coordination: Maintain frequent, clear communication with vendors, supply teams, and plant operations to ensure parts arrive per scheduled dates.
- Data Tracking & Reporting: Utilize MS Excel and internal computer systems daily to track part statuses, update delivery schedules, and log material metrics.
- Shortage Resolution: Proactively identify potential delivery delays, follow up on outstanding purchase orders, and expedite critical parts.
Required Skills & Experience
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities for coordinating effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in typing, general computer operations, and MS Office Suite (specifically strong capabilities in MS Excel).
- Adaptability & Organization: High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple supplier order lines simultaneously under changing factory demands.
What Makes You Stand Out
- A 4-year degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (manager is open to recent college graduates!).
- Direct hands-on experience using SAP for material planning, purchase order tracking, or inventory management.
- Prior experience or internships in manufacturing logistics, procurement, or vendor management.
