Overview
Buddy’s Home Furnishings is looking for a reliable, hardworking Delivery Driver / Collection Representative to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering, setting up, maintaining, and collecting rental merchandise and collecting payments from customers and solving problems while providing excellent customer service to our customers.
The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, comfortable working independently, and able to safely handle furniture, appliances, electronics, and other household merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and professionally set up furniture, appliances, electronics, and other merchandise in customers’ homes
- Properly assemble and install products while preventing damage to merchandise or customer property
- Inspect merchandise before and after delivery to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Educate customers on proper use and care of rental merchandise
- Complete delivery paperwork and update customer accounts accurately
- Perform scheduled customer visits and collections when payments are past due
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding account status and payment arrangements
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and safety standards
- Load and unload merchandise safely using proper lifting techniques
- Work as part of a team while also being able to complete tasks independently
- Provide outstanding customer service while representing the Buddy’s brand
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record (subject to company requirements)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule between 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Schedule may change based on store needs, deliveries, and customer demand
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry heavy furniture, appliances, and electronics (75+ lbs with assistance when needed)
- Must be comfortable entering customers’ homes professionally and respectfully
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous delivery, moving, warehouse, furniture, appliance, or customer service experience preferred
- Experience with collections, route driving, or account management is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle difficult customer conversations professionally
