t the end of May, the NJDOE launched a new application and certification program, the New Jersey Educator Certification System or NJEdCert. On June 1, 2022, NJEdCert will be available. Educators may apply on/after June 1 for all certificates and credentials.

ualifications

ust hold a NJ Teaching License or a NJ Substitute Teacher License
Valid New Jersey Teacher Instructional Certificate preferred
NJ Substitute Teacher License requires a minimum of 30 college credits
Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while a regular teacher is absent
Ability to follow lesson plans, left by the permanent teacher or paraprofessional
