Position Title: Saw Operator
Reports To: Production Manager
Position Summary Operating a large industrial bandsaw. Precision cutting structural steel members trailer manufacturing. Safely moving steel bundles with overhead crane.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
· Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, template, or fixture.
· Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with fixture, die, or blade.
· Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
· Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
· Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
· Assists other machine operators to set up machines, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Must know or be able to quickly learn how to use tape measure, protractor and square
· Attention to detail
· Demonstrate an acceptable level of skill in all tasks related to operating these machines.
· Have ability to do heavy lifting
· Be motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines.
· Be reliable and able to work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced environment plus overtime when required to meet customer deadlines
· Be 18 years or older
· Be authorized to work in the United States

Salary and Benefits: Starting salary for this position is from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on education, experience and skill.
