Job Summary
A gentleman in La Plata, Maryland is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Professional to provide support with activities of daily living, companionship, and daily routines. This position is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others maintain comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life. There are cats in the home, so applicants must be comfortable around cats; however, staff will not be responsible for caring for the cats.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with activities of daily living in a respectful and compassionate manner
- Provide support with daily routines and personal needs
- Help him access food and drinks throughout the day
- Keep his living area tidy, organized, and arranged according to his preferences
- Offer companionship, conversation, and encouragement during the day
- Monitoring for skin integrity
- Maintain safety, comfort, privacy, and dignity at all times
- Provide respectful, person-centered support
- Communicate professionally with the support team as needed

Requirements

- Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule
- Comfort working in a home with cats
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
- Ability to commute to La Plata, MD
- Reliable transportation preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with activities of daily living preferred
- Experience with personal care, caregiving, or direct support services preferred
