Overview
We are seeking a candidate with expertise in installing various flooring types, including vinyl, wood, VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile) carpet tiles, carpet, ceramic, epoxy flooring, and baseboards. The ideal candidate should possess their own transportation and be willing to travel. Additionally, they should be prepared to work a standard 40-hour week. Only serious inquiries will be considered.
Duties
- Measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installation by reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Install various flooring types such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials.
- Perform surface preparation tasks including leveling, sanding, caulking, and floor care to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Execute related tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet setup, and water damage restoration when needed.
- Read and interpret schematics or blueprints to ensure accurate placement of flooring components.
- Assist with restoration projects involving water damage repair or industry-specific restoration procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or general construction site work.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and blueprint reading.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, caulking guns, and buffing equipment.
- Familiarity with power tools including drills, sanders, grinders, and concrete finishing tools.
- Experience in carpentry, remodeling, drywall finishing or construction painting is a plus.
- Knowledge of the restoration industry standards related to water damage repair and floor care techniques.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately; previous experience with fixture installation is advantageous.
