Who We Are: Dallas Farmers Market was first established as a municipal farmers market/produce shed in 1941. Management and development of the site changed hands in 2014 and was built into the public market destination you see today. Since then, the produce barn has transitioned from a wholesale produce barn, with products from who knows where, to The Shed and our locally grown, raised, and made weekly farmers market. All products sold in The Shed at our weekend farmers markets are produced in Texas or within 400 miles of Dallas. In The Shed, you’ll see all manner of fresh produce from small Texas farms, locally sourced meats from Texas ranchers, bread baked that morning, and a wide selection of complimentary jams, jellies, soaps, and crafts. Our vendors are thoroughly vetted to ensure everything they’re growing, making, or baking fits our high standards to bring our customers the best of the best of Dallas and Texas.
Who You Are: You are passionate about local businesses, shopping small, and supporting Texas farms and ranches. You’re ready to put in the work to make every market successful and don’t shy away from the tough jobs. You’ve got a background in small business, event management, public programming, customer service, or agricultural business.
