Customer Service Representative
Location: Lakeland, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
About the Position
We're looking for a motivated, organized Customer Service Representative to join a busy transmission rebuilding facility. This position plays an important role in keeping daily operations running smoothly by serving as the connection between customers, technicians, vendors, and office staff.
The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently manage multiple tasks throughout the day. Experience in the automotive industry or a mechanical background is highly preferred, as you'll be communicating with customers about transmission repairs, parts, and service updates.
What You'll Do
No two days are exactly the same. Your responsibilities may include:
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide outstanding customer service.
- Greet customers professionally and assist them with questions regarding transmission rebuilds and repairs.
- Create work orders, process invoices, and accurately enter customer information into the company's computer system.
- Coordinate with technicians regarding repair status and communicate updates to customers.
- Schedule appointments and organize daily workflow.
- Assist customers with parts availability, pricing, and repair estimates.
- Respond to emails and other customer inquiries promptly.
- Maintain accurate customer records and filing systems.
- Order or research parts when needed.
- Work closely with the shop team to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Help maintain an organized, efficient front office.
Qualifications

- Previous customer service or office experience.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Great organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, candidates with any of the following will stand out:
- Automotive service advisor experience.
- Parts counter or automotive dealership experience.
- Transmission or mechanical knowledge.
- Experience reading parts catalogs or repair terminology.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Mitchell1, Shop-Ware, or similar shop management software.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
