Position Summary
Comfort Suites Dallas is seeking a friendly, dependable, and professional Front Desk Agent to provide excellent service to our guests. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for welcoming guests, completing check-ins and check-outs, processing reservations and payments, answering guest questions, and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the hotel.
This position requires someone who is reliable, comfortable working independently, able to handle guest concerns professionally, and capable of staying organized during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Perform guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
- Verify guest identification, reservations, room rates, payment methods, and required deposits.
- Process cash and credit card transactions according to hotel procedures.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and assist callers with reservations, rates, availability, hotel information, and general questions.
- Create, modify, and cancel reservations accurately in the hotel reservation system.
- Maintain knowledge of current room rates, promotions, packages, availability, and hotel policies.
- Answer guest questions regarding hotel amenities, Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking, local restaurants, transportation, and nearby attractions.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Communicate maintenance and housekeeping issues to the appropriate staff and follow up when necessary.
- Maintain accurate communication with housekeeping regarding room status, vacant rooms, stayovers, early check-ins, and late check-outs.
- Maintain the Front Desk log and document important incidents, guest requests, maintenance issues, and information for the next shift.
- Receive and properly handle guest packages, mail, deliveries, and messages.
- Follow hotel procedures regarding guest privacy and room information.
- Follow all cash-handling, credit-card, deposit, refund, and payment policies.
- Complete shift reports, balance transactions, and prepare required paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Complete all assigned Front Desk shift-checklist duties before leaving.
- Monitor the lobby and Front Desk area and report suspicious activity, disturbances, safety concerns, or emergencies.
- Understand and follow hotel emergency and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other hotel employees.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Front Desk and lobby area.
- Assist with breakfast, laundry, housekeeping, or other hotel operational needs when reasonably necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, customer service, retail, or cash-handling experience preferred but not required.
- Hotel Front Desk experience is a plus but not required for the right candidate.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and coworkers.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn the hotel's property-management system.
- Ability to accurately handle cash, credit-card transactions, and basic paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when handling guest complaints or difficult situations.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to report to scheduled shifts consistently.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be able to maintain guest confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Schedule
Hotel operations are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Applicants should have flexibility to work assigned shifts, which may include:
- Mornings
- Evenings
- Overnight shifts
- Weekends
- Holidays
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential requirement of this position. We have flexiibility for hours.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or remain at the Front Desk for extended periods.
- Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry packages, supplies, or other items weighing approximately 25 pounds.

The ideal Front Desk Agent is dependable, honest, courteous, and able to take ownership of the Front Desk during their shift. We are looking for someone who understands that excellent hotel service means being attentive to guests while also protecting the hotel, following procedures, communicating problems, and ensuring the next shift is properly informed.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
