Liberty Smokes is looking for a dependable and outgoing Retail Associate to join our team. You don't need to be a cigar expert to apply! We are looking for someone who excels at customer service, enjoys a unique retail environment, and is eager to learn the ropes of the premium cigar industry. If you are a "people person" who can handle a cash register and keep a shop looking sharp, we will provide all the specialized training you need. You must be open to evening, nights, and weekends shifts. The training hours will be during daytime and nighttime hours.
What You’ll Do (We Will Train You!)
Customer Service: Greet every guest, handle transactions on the POS system, and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
Shop Upkeep: Keep the lounge and retail floor clean, clear ashtrays, and ensure shelves are stocked and organized.
Humidor Care: Learn how to monitor humidity levels and handle premium cigars properly to ensure they stay fresh.
Product Education: Over time, you’ll learn to explain different cigar "profiles" (mild vs. full) and origins (Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, etc.) to help customers make a choice.
The Ritual: Learn the professional way to cut and light a cigar for guests using specialized tools.
Requirements Age: Must be 21 or older (legal requirement for tobacco retail).
Reliability: You show up on time and take pride in your work.
Communication: You are comfortable talking to a diverse range of customers and providing great service.
Environment: You must be comfortable working in a smoking environment (cigar lounge).
Retail Basics: Experience with cash handling, cleaning, and inventory is a plus.
