Accounting Manager
La Crosse, WI | In-Office (4 days/week) | $60,000 + Benefits + 401(k) Match
About the Role
We're building out our accounting function in-house and need a hands-on Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day books. This isn't a "manage a big team" role — it's a "roll up your sleeves and own the function" role. You'll handle payroll, post transactions, manage debits and credits, and keep job costs accurate. If you've got construction job costing experience, that's a big plus , you'll hit the ground running.
What You'll Do
- Process payroll accurately and on time
- Post journal entries and manage day-to-day general ledger activity
- Maintain accurate debits/credits and month-end close
- Track job costs across active projects
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Support budgeting and reporting for leadership
- Work within QuickBooks Online and ADP
What You Bring
- Solid accounting fundamentals — payroll, posting, debits/credits, job costing
- Construction industry job costing experience preferred
- Strong computer skills (QuickBooks Online experience a plus)
- Clear, professional communication, you'll work with both field and office teams
- Comfortable owning a function independently, not just executing tickets
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered

- Schedule: 4-day work week, in-office; Fridays as needed (month-end close, deadlines)
