Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Office professional to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle administrative tasks, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing accurate information and directing calls appropriately.
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers, and other payers.
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries efficiently.
- Maintain accurate medical records by organizing files, updating patient information, and reviewing documentation for completeness.
- Support medical administrative functions including data entry, filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions.
- Assist with intake procedures for new patients and update existing patient care plans as needed.
- Utilize computer skills to operate EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix effectively while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Medical front desk or administrative support role within a healthcare setting; clinic or dental office experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Dental terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Open Dental, EZ-Dent, or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for managing health information management tasks.
- Knowledge of insurance verification procedures and Medicare guidelines is advantageous.
- Strong customer service orientation with a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
