Continue Your Aerospace Medicine Mission
TRIAD Healthcare Solutions, LLC, an SBA-approved 8(a) Mentor-Protégé Joint Venture between Third Eye Business Solutions and ABSS Solutions, LLC, is seeking an experienced Aerospace Medicine Specialist Physician (Flight Surgeon) to support the Headquarters Air Force Accessions Center, Accession Medical Waiver Directorate (AMWD), at Joint Base San Antonio–Randolph.
Continue serving the Air Force by applying your aerospace medicine expertise to evaluate accession medical qualification and waiver requests for future Airmen. This position offers meaningful mission impact with limited traditional patient care in a collaborative physician environment. Rather than traditional clinical practice, this role focuses on applying aerospace medicine expertise and sound clinical judgment to support accession decisions that directly impact national readiness.
Who We're Looking For: We're seeking experienced Flight Surgeons who understand that success in this role extends well beyond reviewing medical records. The ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) standards, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex cases while maintaining consistency and accuracy. They recognize that every medical record represents an individual seeking to serve and appreciate the importance of applying standards fairly, consistently, and without bias.
Successful candidates are comfortable interpreting medical documentation, coordinating with providers and military treatment facilities, and navigating complex physical standards cases. They thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where accuracy, organization, and timely case management directly contribute to the Air Force's accession mission.
Candidates with prior experience supporting Air Force Aerospace Medicine, Medical Standards Management Elements (MSME), MEPS, operational medicine clinics, or physical standards programs are particularly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Review complex accession medical records and waiver requests.
- Apply DAFMAN 48-123, DoDI 6130.03, Air Force Waiver Guide, and related guidance.
- Provide expert recommendations regarding accession eligibility.
- Collaborate with Aerospace Medical Technicians and Clinical Psychologists.
- Participate in policy interpretation and implementation.
- Prepare medical summaries and consultation reports.
- Coordinate with military treatment facilities and specialty consultants.
- Support enterprise-level aerospace medicine initiatives and special projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely case processing.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Current unrestricted U.S. medical license.
- Board Certified in Aerospace Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Preventive Medicine, or another specialty meeting Air Force requirements.
- Minimum three (3) years serving as an Active Duty Military Flight Surgeon within the past fifteen (15) years.
- Experience applying military medical standards for accession, flying, and special operational duty evaluations.
Security Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access to Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph.
- Must be eligible for and maintain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must successfully complete the required Government suitability/background investigation (Tier 1) and all applicable security, HIPAA, Privacy Act, and cybersecurity training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting Headquarters Air Force Accessions Center (AFAC), Medical Standards Management (MSME), or MAJCOM Aerospace Medicine activities.
- MAJCOM or enterprise-level aerospace medicine experience.
- Previous experience reviewing medical waivers.
- Experience developing or interpreting Air Force medical policy.
- Prior operational medicine leadership experience.
Compensation: Competitive hourly compensation based on qualifications, military flight surgeon experience, and directly related aerospace medicine expertise.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (40 hours per week). Work hours are coordinated with the Government based on mission requirements.
