The Quality Technician is responsible for visual and physical inspection, sampling, testing and control of parts, products and raw materials to conform to established specifications, applicable standards of API and the ISO 9001 Quality System. These Inspections and Tests will require utilization of various kinds of gauges, tools and measuring and test equipment both mechanical and electrical. Provides training to shop personnel related to quality processes. Provides on-hands leadership related to product improvement and problem solving.
Pay Rate: $20-$23/hr
Shift: Mon-Thu 7:30am-4:30pm and Fri 7:30am-2:00pm
Essential Functions:
- Perform first article and incoming inspections to ensure compliance of procured parts and materials (dispositioning non-conforming product as necessary)
- Demonstrate proficiency at using precision inspection measuring and test equipment.
- Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
- Manage and perform gauge/instrument calibrations
- Routinely communicate with production personnel regarding any quality related needs or issues
- Monitor and maintain equipment/tool performance
- Verifies and supports dispositions of nonconforming materials whether internal or customer returns through an RMA procedure. This includes ensuring the integrity of the quality data input in the Nonconforming Material Report database. Interface with internal and external personnel may be required in the performance of these activities
- Will have exposure to other quality roles including quality system management, calibration, and customer required documentation preparation (FAI, PPAP, etc.)
Minimum Requirements
- Must have technical knowledge of Smart scope and optical comparators
- Ability to generate first article inspections, capability studies, gauge R&R studies, and special tests
- Manage and perform gauge/instrument calibrations
- Understanding of geometrical dimensions and tolerances is expected
- Must have knowledge of ISO-9001 and compliance requirements
- Understand all aspects of quality systems, understand control plans and data collection
- Advanced blueprint reading and interpretation
- Must have AAS degree or equivalent work experience
