Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Dining Room Manager to lead the food service operations within an assisted living facility that also serves a charter school community. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of dining room operations, including meal service, staff supervision, and customer experience enhancement.
- Coordinate food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and quality aligned with health standards.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling, order processing, and inventory control.
- Supervise kitchen staff and servers, providing ongoing training in food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Maintain inventory levels for food supplies and dining equipment; implement effective stock control measures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all dining areas.
- Lead shift management activities, including scheduling staff rotations and overseeing daily operational flow.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to uphold excellent service standards.
- Assist with budgeting efforts related to food costs and staffing to optimize operational efficiency.
- Support catering events or special meal services such as banquets or community gatherings when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management within quick service or fast-food restaurant environments; fine dining or casual dining experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with a background in staff training & development.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; strong cash handling skills required.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety protocols.
- Ability to manage inventory control effectively while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Experience in managing budgets, shift schedules, and team performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and foster team collaboration.
- Prior experience working in hospitality management or restaurant management roles preferred; assistant manager experience is advantageous.
