Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Project Jobsite Foreman/Lead Electrician with a Journeyman license to lead electrical crews on diverse construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations on-site, coordinate with project teams, and ensure the successful completion of electrical installations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems and management software.
Responsibilities
· Supervise and direct a team of journeyman electricians and apprentices to complete electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks on an assigned project/jobsite
· Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure work is completed according to project timelines
· Maintain accurate records of daily work performed, time sheets, and inspections. Submit daily reports to project managers and supervisors
· Notify Project Superintendent of upcoming manpower, equipment and material orders/needs
· Manage current equipment on-site, and call-off when needed
· Install wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, following current NEC and local code
· Install controls including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, and circuit-breaker panels
· Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
· Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
· Troubleshoot issues with electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments
· Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
· Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
· Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
· Ensure jobsite equipment is in safe operating condition
· Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
· Confirm with Risk & Safety Manager that necessary 811 Dig requests are active
· Keep work areas clean and organized, including disposing of debris and properly storing tools
· Assist in accurately documenting work orders, time sheets, and inspection reports
· Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, gloves and steel-toed work boots
· Follow company procedures and meet role expectations
· Attend relevant company and safety meetings
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent with prior commercial experience as an journeyman electrician
· Intermediate understanding of electrical principles and concepts including NEC code
· Basic knowledge of software programs like Microsoft Outlook, Autodesk, Bluebeam and Salesforce
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
· Demonstrate strong communication and organization capabilities
· Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions
· Deal with problems involving variables in standardized and/or unexpected situations
· Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively as part of a team
· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
· OSHA 10 certified; OSHA 30 preferred
· Valid Texas Driver’s License
· Valid TDLR Journeyman’s License
