The Summary:
Novak Heating & Air is currently seeking a detail-oriented, project-driven, and forward-thinking professional to provide financial leadership to our 91-year-old, growing business. This position requires a reliable, detail-oriented, organized person who exhibits a positive attitude, a desire to work as efficiently as possible, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, and excellent client-facing communication skills.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including account reconciliations
- Manage AIA billing processes
- Oversee accruals, prepaid calculations, and depreciation schedules
- Develop and analyze cash flow statements
- Prepare trial balances and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Handle sales tax filings and conduct related research
- Track intercompany transactions and reconcile activity
- Prepare and file 1099 forms
- Process payroll, including W-2 preparation and compliance filings
- Union Reports
- Track project job costs, budgets, and profitability
- Works to resolve customer and employee questions or issues tactfully and accurately
- Working with our team to organize and direct field employees as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience in accounting
- Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of purchasing, financing, and construction workflows
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop

Job Requirements/Specifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of experience in an administrative capacity preferred
- 2+ years of customer service experience preferred
- 4+ years of billing/accounting experience preferred
- Experience in heating and air conditioning office nice to have, not required
- Ability to read, write, interpret, and verbally give instructions
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with using accounting systems
- Dependable, reliable, and pleasant friendly disposition
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Able to multitask while staying organized
- Ability to lift 20 pounds

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
