RN CVOR – Cardiac Operating Room

Assignment: 13 Weeks with Possible Extension
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $65/Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN CVOR) to join our Open Heart Surgery team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both general OR and cardiac open-heart procedures, with demonstrated ability to circulate cardiac cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate cardiac open-heart surgical procedures, including CABG and heart valve surgeries.
- Provide perioperative nursing care throughout surgical procedures.
- Support general and vascular surgical cases as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the multidisciplinary OR team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize Epic electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety and surgical protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
- Recent experience in Cardiac OR / Open Heart Surgery
- Experience circulating cardiac cases
- Experience with:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Heart Valve Procedures
- Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
- Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
- Experience with General OR and Vascular cases
- Epic experience required
On-Call Requirements
- Minimum one weekend of call per month
- 24-hour weekend call coverage
- Must be available for 1–2 night call shifts per week, approximately 8 hours each
