Job Summary
Absolute Excellence Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate, experienced, and faith-aligned VPK and Preschool Lead Teacher to lead our 3 and 4-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate is a dedicated early childhood professional who understands the developmental needs of preschool-aged children and is confident delivering Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten curriculum in a structured, Christ-centered environment. In this role you will prepare young scholars academically and socially for Kindergarten while nurturing their love of learning and their growing faith.

Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate VPK and preschool instruction aligned with Florida's VPK Education Standards for children ages 3 and 4
- Integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and Christian values naturally into daily lessons, routines, and classroom culture
- Create a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Implement the Florida VPK curriculum with fidelity while differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of each scholar
- Prepare scholars for a successful transition to Kindergarten through intentional instruction in early literacy, phonics, math readiness, and social-emotional skills
- Assess and document each scholar's developmental progress and VPK learning outcomes using appropriate observation and assessment tools
- Communicate regularly and proactively with parents and guardians regarding scholar progress, behavior, classroom activities, and upcoming events
- Establish and maintain consistent daily routines including circle time, centers, meals, rest, and transitions that provide children with structure and security
- Supervise and guide teacher assistants and classroom aides to ensure a cohesive and high-quality classroom experience
- Maintain a clean, organized, and print-rich classroom environment that is stimulating, safe, and compliant with Florida DCF health and safety standards
- Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood and VPK education
- Complete all required VPK documentation, attendance records, incident reports, and developmental assessments accurately and on time
- Follow all academy policies, Florida DCF licensing requirements, VPK provider standards, and mandated reporter obligations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- DCF 45-Hour Childcare Training Certificate (required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (preferred)
- Florida VPK Teacher Credential
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience teaching preschool or VPK-aged children in a licensed childcare or school setting (strongly preferred)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Level 2 background screening clearance (required per Florida DCF)
- Familiarity with Florida VPK Education Standards and assessment requirements (preferred)
- Alignment with the academy's Christian mission, values, and standards of conduct
- Strong classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills with preschool-aged children and their families
