Part Time Stocker
A Stocker is responsible for stocking merchandise in a retail space. They receive and distribute merchandise throughout the store, displaying it in accordance with procedure, and take inventory of stock regularly. They’re also responsible for performing customer service duties. A stocker works fairly independently but they’re usually under the supervision of the store manager.
Stocker Duties and Responsibilities
Provides Customer Service
The Stocker usually works in a visible place on the store floor while stocking merchandise, so they must also be capable of providing excellent customer service. They assist customers who need help and answer customer questions. Because they stock the store, they usually have very extensive knowledge regarding product location, so they assist customers in finding specific items.
Stock Merchandise
Stockers are responsible for stocking shelves with product and maintaining inventory. They must display products nicely and according to display policies and procedures. It is crucial that they maintain the look of the store and the merchandise through proper stocking and attractive displays.
Receives Product
When product comes into the warehouse and is unloaded, the Stocker is often the ones who transports the product from the back room onto the store floor. They then distribute product throughout the store to its appropriate location. They also take inventory to maintain product levels.
Maintain Store Cleanliness
In order to keep up the appearance of the store, in addition to stocking product and creating displays, the Stocker assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the store by sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning up spills.

Stockers are detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Since they often interact with customers, they must by good communicators. In addition to these general skills and traits, employers are looking for stockers with the following skills.
