Job Summary
The Retail Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service and product knowledge to guests in Lowcountry Olive Oil's retail stores. This role is to cover the weekends, plus a few days during the week. This role supports day-to-day store operations, including merchandising, tastings, inventory receiving, shipping, and light product preparation such as blending and bottling when needed. The associate helps maintain a clean, welcoming environment that reflects the brand’s values and charm.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers, offering product recommendations and education.
- Operate the POS system to process sales, returns, and gift card transactions.
- Restock shelves, sample stations, and displays throughout the day.
- Shipping all online orders.
- Support in-store tastings and seasonal promotions.
- Receive incoming inventory shipments, verify quantities against packing slips, and report discrepancies.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, counters, and bottling areas.
- Answer product and ingredient questions confidently.
- Support blending of oils and vinegars as needed, following standard recipes and procedures.
- Help with light bottling or labeling tasks during downtime.
- Communicate customer feedback or inventory needs to store leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Experience in supervising or leading small teams is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for pricing and transactions
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or experience in a grocery environment is advantageous
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service orientation to handle inquiries professionally
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products through engaging demonstrations and personalized recommendations
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Interest in food, cooking, or gourmet products is a plus.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to learn about product lines and tasting techniques.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
