Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to lead our finance team and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our financial operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Duties
- Key responsibilities include:
· Able to work every position of the Accounting Department (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger).
· Prepares Monthly Financial Statements
· Helps the Controller with strategic management of the accounting and finance functions
· Trains, and retains skilled accounting and finance staff
· Provides leadership that reflects the Club’s mission and core values
· Focuses on success and holds staff accountable for high level of performance
· Ensures proper assignment of job duties/functions for all personnel/positions in the accounting department
· Follows accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; Recommends improvements to ensure integrity of company’s financial information.
· Oversees and reviews membership accounting, collection of dues, and efforts to decrease negative or past due accounts monthly.
· Ensures the timely payment of invoices, approves payment of all invoices.
· Works with leadership to create long-term and short-term operating plans; Helps establishing associated operating and capital budgets.
· Distributes financial reports to appropriate management members; helps preparing the monthly board package, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Helps Department Heads during the budget process:
· Follows policies, procedures and expectations for budget preparation, approval, execution, and monitoring
· Assists department heads on the budget process.
· Provides real time or timely reports on financial issues impacting department budgets.
· If there is an unfavorable financial result or variance; conducts research and is prepared to offer preliminary explanations and appropriate counter measures.
· Compares relevant data, such as YTD results versus budget or current year versus previous year, to identify issues or trends as soon as possible.
· Helps the Controller preparing account reconciliations, works with Controller to identify and rectify any imbalances or inaccuracies.
· Perform special projects as assigned by the Controller.
· Play a key role in preparation for audits, including coordinating activities, reviewing, and preparing information provided.
Protects the organization by keeping information secure and confidential
Qualifications
· Three years of progressive experience in accounting or finance with increasing level of responsibility; experience in the Club industry strongly preferred.
· Experience in an organization with multiple business units is preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field;
· Solid understanding of day-to-day operations.
· Applied knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
· Extremely high level of personal and professional integrity.
· Diplomatic and effective communication skills.
· Comfort and familiarity with Club/HOA technology and software, advance Excel skills, and knowledge of Jonas is a plus.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to build relationships with Members.
· Prior Homeowners Association experience is a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
