Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate tax compliance, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with complex tax planning projects. Duties
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assist in the development of financial models to support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data using spreadsheets and financial software to identify discrepancies and opportunities for optimization
- Support audit processes by preparing documentation and collaborating with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to communicate complex tax issues clearly and effectively
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance and implement necessary adjustments
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably with a focus on tax accounting or related fields
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and modeling
- Familiarity with financial software systems used for tax preparation and financial reporting
- Knowledge of financial regulations including GAAP, industry standards, and relevant tax laws
- Experience with mergers & acquisitions, financial modeling development, or auditing is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently through effective project management skills
- Excellent analysis skills combined with strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
