American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.

Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital
-
Floats within scope across all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
-
Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
-
Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Holiday rotation required
-
Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs

Uses Epic EMR
-
Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
-
BLS and PALS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
-
Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
-
ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Skilled in emergency and anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
-
Experience with pediatric dosage calculations required
-
Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
-
Skilled in airway maintenance and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
-
Experience managing chest tubes, central lines, implanted lines, and PICC lines
-
ICP monitoring experience required
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
-
Knowledgeable in infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE use
-
Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration
-
Provide critical care nursing support across multiple pediatric units based on facility needs
-
First-time travelers with the required experience will be considered
-
Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard traveler rate, though local candidates may be considered case-by-case
-
Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application

Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peaking in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
