Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
The base pay for this position is $16.40. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods.
Job Summary: Receive, store, inventory, and retrieve yarn and other supplies and materials.
Tools and Equipment used: Computer, utility knife, powered industrial truck, hand held scanner, and general office supplies.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:

Perform a daily walk through with a checklist.

Load and unload yarn
- Receive and record yarn as delivered. Weigh % of each shipment, put on the correct label, and place in the proper location.

Assist in inventory control.

Receive size, and/or chemicals as delivered.

Keep the warehouse clean and orderly on a daily basis.

Do cycle count on closed case inventory.
-
Work scheduled overtime.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Stage non-compliant products for return to vendor and/or disposal.
Safety:

Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.

Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately, including damage to the powered industrial truck.

Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Maintain 5 S standards.

Ear protection in high noise areas.
Qualifications:

Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
