Role Overview
The Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing production equipment and processes, improving reliability, and ensuring the safe and efficient and accurate operation of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment. This role supports production performance through preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and upgrades. Working closely with operations, quality, and other engineers, the Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer helps maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards while driving operational excellence across four production lines and two local facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging manufacturing problems.
- Solicit observations from operators.
- Test and evaluate theoretical designs and processes
- Implement and manage maintenance programs
- Perform and document routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary
- Work in controlled and cleanroom environments
- Plan, lead, and oversee repair and installation activities
- Comply with established internal procedures, and applicable FDA and ISO regulations
- Schedule and prioritize facilities and operations maintenance tasks
- Organize and manage inventory of spare parts and tools
- Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage safety and environmental compliance
- Ensure facilities are fully validated, adequately maintained, safe for personnel, and operational at all times
- Work closely with and support Engineering and Operations
- Manage related vendors and contractors
- Help identify design and performance improvements
Qualifications

- Engineering degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, education, and training
- Experience in maintenance, calibration, and equipment operations
- Knowledge of high-speed automation, PLC, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Competency in computer functions including MS Office programs
- A team player that is willing to learn and help with other duties during downtime
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Engineering degree preferred
