Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior ECAD Layout Specialist role, offering an exciting opportunity for aerospace industry professionals to contribute to high-stakes national security missions through advanced PCB design and development.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Remote)
Position: Senior ECAD Layout Specialist
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $68.79 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree plus at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirement: U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
Schedule: First Shift
In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Design, develop, and manage PCB CAD solutions for high-frequency, high-speed digital signal processing, and RF applications aligned with defense standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create multi-layer PCB layouts up to 28 layers, ensuring compliance with high-speed routing, interference mitigation, and signal integrity requirements.
- Generate detailed PCB documentation, including parts placement, electronic packaging, and fabrication drawings, supporting MIL/Space high-reliability product design.
- Troubleshoot design data and configuration issues with external vendors, ensuring seamless integration and quality control.
- Apply advanced knowledge of DDR4, DDR5, Versal devices, and associated constraints management to optimize PCB performance for defense applications.
- Support innovative PCB design solutions that meet evolving defense and aerospace mission needs, adhering to industry best practices and internal standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive experience with Xpedition VX2.13 or higher, including multi-layer PCB design and fabrication processes.
- Deep understanding of high-speed signal integrity, RF design principles, and interference mitigation techniques.
- Proficiency in managing complex design constraints for DDR4, DDR5, and high-speed serial interfaces.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for design data, configuration, and vendor-related issues.
- Familiarity with MIL/Space standards for high-reliability electronic systems.
- Ability to work effectively within integrated product teams, demonstrating sophisticated problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, including parts placement, electronic packaging, and detailed documentation.
