Lead Preschool Teacher – Full-Time
Little Miss Muffins Learning Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development, classroom management, lesson planning, and positive interactions with children and families. This position also requires assisting with transportation as needed; therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans and learning activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming preschool classroom.
- Provide nurturing, attentive care while supporting each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Establish and maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
- Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management techniques.
- Observe and document children’s development and progress.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and families regarding their child’s day, development, and classroom activities.
- Supervise children closely and maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times.
- Assist children with meals, toileting, hygiene, rest time, and other daily routines as needed.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain learning centers.
- Work collaboratively with administration and other teaching staff.
- Follow all Little Miss Muffins Learning Academy policies and procedures and applicable childcare regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and center activities.
- Assist with transporting children when required and follow all transportation and child-safety procedures.
- Perform other duties related to the care, supervision, and education of children as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in Early Childhood Education or a related credential.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with a CDA must have at least two years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or early learning setting.
- Previous experience serving as a Lead Teacher is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, lesson planning, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Must be dependable, professional, patient, nurturing, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be comfortable and able to transport children as part of job responsibilities when needed.
- Must be able to meet all required childcare clearances, background checks, health requirements, and trainings.
- Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification or obtain certification as required.
- Must be able to safely supervise and actively engage with preschool-aged children throughout the workday.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
