Overview
We're looking for a skilled public relations and communications professional to work on client projects as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Have experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or related roles
- Have a strong ability to write and develop content for print, online, and social media
- Provide support on various client projects as needed
- Write and edit press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate media interviews
- Assist with copy and layout for various communications projects (i.e., newsletters, etc).
- Assist with planning and implementing branding and PR campaigns
- Assist with event planning, staffing, and implementation
- Be available to respond to internal communications, emails, and client needs during the standard working hours
- Be available to provide support on client events and special projects that may occur in evenings and weekends when necessary (special projects)
- Detailed and deadline-oriented
Experience
- Prior experience or coursework in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations is preferred but not required.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages tailored to different audiences.
- Familiarity with AP style for news writing and editing ensures professional consistency across all materials.
- Excellent verbal communication skills suitable for public speaking engagements or media interviews.
- Experience managing social media accounts and understanding analytics tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated research skills with an ability to gather relevant information efficiently.
- Attention to detail in proofreading and editing to maintain high-quality content standards.
