Job Description:
Axtell Carpentry LLC is hiring a full-time General Laborer / Apprentice to join our team installing high-end windows and doors for Renewal by Andersen, the industry leader!
We're a local Montrose-based independent contractor looking for a reliable helper with a great attitude and strong work ethic. No fancy resume needed — if you're willing to learn, work hard, and advance in the trades, this is a solid opportunity to build a real career and increase your earnings. The starting pay range can be exceeded quickly if you have the desire to take on more responsibly and I think you can handle it.
What you'll do (General Labor support):
- Setup and teardown at each job: floor protection, painters plastic on walls/furniture
- Assist with window and door demolition
- Help set up ladders and move materials
- Heavy lifting of window and door units (must be able to lift 75-150 lbs with help)
- General job site support to keep installs running smoothly
Requirements:
- Good attitude and strong work ethic (most important!)
- Basic experience with hand tools and ability to read a tape measure
- Able to work 10-hour days + drive time
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Experience driving with a trailer a plus
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs
- Comfortable on ladders (nothing extreme)
- OK with occasional out-of-town work (1-2 nights in a hotel — we pay for the hotel + $50 per diem)
Pay & Perks:
- $20–$22 per hour depending on experience
- Full-time work

- Hotel paid + $50 per diem for overnight jobs
- If you ride with me to the jobsite and I ask you too drive my truck that will be paid drive time.
If you're dependable, take pride in your work, and want to get into finish carpentry / window & door installation, I will train the right person.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
