Credit Analyst
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 (Onsite)
Contract Length: 7 Months with Potential for Extension
Position Overview
A Fortune 50 retailer is seeking an Account Origination Analyst to support the onboarding and credit activation process for new business customers. This role serves as the first point of contact in the customer credit lifecycle, ensuring applications are accurately documented, verified, and prepared for underwriting review.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing high volumes of customer applications. This individual will partner closely with Sales, Credit, and Operations teams to streamline onboarding activities, maintain data integrity, and support a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Application Management
- Manage the intake and review of commercial credit applications from submission through underwriting readiness.
- Verify application completeness, accuracy, and required supporting documentation.
- Identify missing information and proactively coordinate with applicants to resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain data integrity across credit and customer management systems.
Customer Verification & Compliance
- Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) and business verification activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Validate business entities, ownership structures, tax documentation, and legal records.
- Escalate compliance concerns or discrepancies as appropriate.
Reference Collection & Credit Support
- Contact trade references, bank references, and external parties to obtain necessary credit information.
- Track and document reference responses to support underwriting decisions.
- Ensure timely completion of all pre-underwriting requirements.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a primary liaison between Credit, Sales, and Commercial teams.
- Provide status updates on application progress and onboarding milestones.
- Support efforts to accelerate customer activation and reduce onboarding cycle times.
Pipeline & Performance Management
- Monitor application queues and onboarding workflows to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Track application aging, completion rates, and operational metrics.
- Assist with reporting and process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing onboarding efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in credit operations, finance, customer onboarding, business operations, or a high-volume administrative environment.
- Foundational understanding of commercial credit, business finance principles, and customer onboarding processes.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive processes forward with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to identify process gaps and resolve issues efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting commercial credit or business account onboarding processes.
- Familiarity with KYC, customer verification, or compliance-related activities.
- Experience working in a large corporate or enterprise environment.
- Exposure to retail, distribution, wholesale, or commercial sales organizations.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and SharePoint.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUPs, filtering, and data analysis.
- Experience using Bectran or similar credit management and onboarding platforms.
- Experience navigating Salesforce or comparable CRM systems to manage customer information and communicate application status.
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple business systems and workflows.
