Unique setting of practice (Home-to-community) that focuses on creative approaches for re-integration into life after traumatic injuries related to auto or work accidents (both acute and chronic). Sessions may occur in patient's home or in the community in an attempt to maximize therapeutic effect in stimulating environments that challenge the client to process information and multi-task.
Variable diagnoses are encountered but primary diagnoses encountered are Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal cord Injuries and Multi-Trauma orthopedic injuries.
This position is an opportunity to work with a team approach, providing therapy with a true client-centered approach. Most cases involve a case manager and close communications with physicians, caregivers, and other disciplines. Areas of intervention may include ADL's, strengthening, balance and ROM. sensory integration, community and social re-integration, life management compensatory strategies, equipment and home recommendations habilitation/rehabilitation. The overall goal of Occupational Therapy in this position is to maximize quality of life and maximum return to function.
Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
