Our client is in need of an Accounts Payable Specialist. As an Accounts Payable Specialist you are responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. This role supports the accounting department by maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This position is temp to hire for the right candidate.
Location: Vineland, NJ
Salary: Hourly $25
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments, wire transfers, and check runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
- Maintain accurate accounts, payable records and filing systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of obligations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
- Prepare reports related to accounts payable as requested by management.
- Support audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable or General Accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
