Job Description
Bright Future Early Learning Center is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with preschool-aged children and be knowledgeable in using Teaching Strategies GOLD and The Creative Curriculum.
We are looking for a teacher who can create an engaging classroom environment, develop age-appropriate lesson plans, observe and document children’s progress, and build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate preschool activities using The Creative Curriculum.
- Operate the Teaching Strategies platform, including entering observations, attaching documentation, completing checkpoints, and monitoring children’s developmental progress.
- Create weekly lesson plans based on children’s interests, needs, and learning goals.
- Provide activities in literacy, language, math, science, social-emotional development, creative arts, and physical development.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and engaging classroom.
- Follow the classroom’s posted daily schedule and routines.
- Provide active supervision and maintain required teacher-to-child ratios.
- Complete accurate observations, assessments, incident reports, and daily documentation.
- Communicate professionally with families through Brightwheel and in person.
- Support children during meals, toileting, transitions, rest time, and outdoor play.
- Follow all sanitation, health, safety, licensing, and center policies.
- Attend staff meetings, professional-development sessions, and required training.
- Work cooperatively with administration and other teaching staff.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Working knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Experience using The Creative Curriculum.
- Ability to write lesson plans and document children’s learning through objective observations.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, patient, energetic, and professional.
- Ability to accept feedback and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Birth–Kindergarten Education, or a related field.
- North Carolina Early Childhood Credential or higher.
- Previous preschool lead-teacher experience.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Qualification letter and required childcare training.
- Familiarity with NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- Must be available during the center’s operating hours of 6:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Specific work schedule will be discussed during the interview.
