- Ability to assess and diagnose mental health disorders
- Knowledgeable in applying a variety of counseling treatment modalities
- Understanding of developmental psychology as it pertains to college-age students
- Knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education
- Ability to empathize with students and relate well to a diverse student body
- Cultural Intelligence/Competency – ability to effectively work and respond to needs of students from underrepresented backgrounds (i.e., students of color, international students, first – generation students, conditional admit students) and cultures.
- Ability to facilitate groups
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
Special Working Conditions
