Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead and oversee asphalt paving projects from start to finish. This role involves managing construction crews, coordinating schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards on all asphalt-related projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a thorough understanding of asphalt paving processes, construction management software, and safety regulations. As an Asphalt Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in delivering successful projects on time and within budget while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise asphalt paving crews, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project plans.
- Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools to meet deadlines.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately.
- Oversee construction safety management practices in compliance with OSHA and federal safety regulations.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure quality control and timely delivery of materials.
- Conduct regular site inspections, supervise construction drawing review, and monitor progress against schedules.
- Maintain detailed documentation including daily reports, safety logs, quality control records, and project updates.
- Collaborate with project managers on budgeting, cost estimates, and managing contracts to optimize project profitability.
- Ensure adherence to construction regulations and industry standards for commercial construction projects.
- Supervise crew management activities including training, performance evaluations, and managing team dynamics.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial asphalt paving projects with a strong background in construction site management.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera, HeavyBid or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans accurately.
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations related to asphalt paving.
- Skilled in construction scheduling, project coordination, budgeting, and managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with construction safety management practices on active sites.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics; familiarity with construction estimating and quality control procedures.
- Excellent managerial communication skills for supervising crews and coordinating with stakeholders effectively.
- Valid knowledge of construction regulations specific to commercial projects; experience supervising diverse teams is preferred.
- Construction site experience involving blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, use of ohmmeters for electrical checks (if applicable), and managing heavy equipment operations.
