Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalized tutoring sessions focused on MCAT preparation across multiple subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and critical analysis.
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials tailored to individual student needs, utilizing innovative learning technology tools.
- Assess student progress regularly through practice exams and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
- Create comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching methods, including visual aids and interactive activities.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, fostering a positive learning environment for students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Support students in mastering complex concepts such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, genetics, and data structures.
- Collaborate with students to build confidence and develop effective study strategies for the MCAT exam.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of MCAT content areas including biology, chemistry (organic and inorganic), physics, psychology, sociology, and biochemistry.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to standardized test preparation.
- Excellent tutoring skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Proficiency with learning technology platforms and digital resources for remote or in-person instruction.
- Solid understanding of classroom management techniques to foster a productive learning environment.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or adult learners in educational settings or one-on-one tutoring.
- Demonstrated expertise in subjects such as math (algebra, calculus, geometry), statistics, differential equations, discrete math, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, microbiology, microbiology, genetics, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, organic chemistry, biochemistry, data structures and machine learning concepts.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners including those in special education or early childhood education programs.
