An Ag technician manages, collects, and processes animal waste on a farm. Key duties include operating manure transfer and drying systems, performing equipment maintenance, and keeping regulatory compliance records.
Daily Responsibilities
- System Operation: Run manure out of animal barns, manage manure belts and air blowers, and oversee stacking or drying systems.
- Equipment Maintenance: Fix and inspect belts, chains, bearings, pumps, and storage units.
- Record Keeping: Track daily running times, fill out safety logs, and prepare documentation for environmental or state audits.
Job Requirements
- Physical Work: Ability to do heavy physical labor and work in varied farm conditions.
- Mechanical Skills: Basic knowledge to troubleshoot and fix machinery.
- Driver’s License: Often requires a valid license to operate farm vehicles and transport equipment.
There is travel involved with this role during season.
