Description:
The Nap Time Floater supports the daily operation of the preschool program by supervising children during rest time, maintaining a safe and calm environment, and assisting teachers with classroom needs before, during, and after nap periods. This position helps ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios while promoting children's health, safety, and well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise children during nap and rest periods.

Maintain a quiet, safe, and nurturing environment conducive to rest.

Monitor sleeping children and conduct regular visual safety checks.

Assist children with settling down for rest and waking up appropriately.

Support classroom teachers with transitions before and after nap time.

Help set up and sanitize cots, mats, bedding, and classroom materials.

Assist with light classroom cleaning and organization during rest periods.

Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.

Respond appropriately to children's needs, emergencies, or behavioral concerns.

Provide coverage for teachers during breaks as needed.

Maintain positive and professional interactions with staff, children, and families.
Requirements:
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience working with young children is preferred.

Ability to supervise children attentively and maintain a calm environment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the classroom.
