These are second opinion evaluations conducted as part of the workers' compensation, liability, and disability claims process. The initial training period is in office and then transitions to fully remote upon completion of initial in-person training.
The QA Specialist’s primary responsibility is to review independent medical exam (IME) reports for accuracy and full medical explanation, ensuring client needs and questions have been fully met. Must love to read!!
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Audit IME reports (summaries of and opinions based on medical office visit notes, physical exams, correspondence, and evaluation of studies) and review for accuracy of data, clarity, and thoroughness, to ensure the expression of a definitive and medically sound opinion
- Correspond with physicians via email or phone, to provide feedback regarding any suggested clarifications or changes to the IME report
- Update tracking system to ensure accurate status of completed work, maintain all related server folders and documentation
- Prioritize workload to meet specific deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of claimant information in accordance with established laws and regulations
Position Requirements The person we need to fill this position should have a genuine commitment to quality work, with a true desire to provide our clients with exceptional service that takes them by surprise whenever possible, in addition to possessing:
- A minimum of three (3) years of general business experience with at least one (1) year of business writing/editing related experience preferred. IME related work experience a plus.
- The ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instruction
- Proven strong written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
- Previous experience and proficiency using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
- The ability to work independently with a high level of accountability
- Solid analytical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- The ability to handle confidential information
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of their fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
Technical Requirements for Working Remotely
- Ethernet connection is required. Woodlake will provide up to 10 foot Ethernet cord (if longer cord is needed, employee must provide).
- Internet download speed of 20 mbps is required, 40-50 mbps is preferred.
- Cable connection for internet is preferred, however, DSL is also acceptable provided the speed meets the above requirements.
- Woodlake will provide computer, monitor, and telephone.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
