Rockwood Retirement Communities is looking for a friendly, informative, and welcoming Maintenance Helper to join our Rockwood South Hill team. This individual will work with the Maintenance Manager and Engineers in keeping a safe environment for residents, guests, and employees. They will drive Rockwood vehicles to pick up garbage, parts, and supplies. This person must be able to perform various work orders and preventive maintenance work orders in or on residential homes and/or apartments in a timely manner.

Individuals hired for this position have an opportunity for promotion from Maintenance Helper to Maintenance Engineer which would involve servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment such as electrical, plumbing, appliances, pneumatics, HVAC systems.
Shift Type: Full-time: Monday-Friday (8:00am- 4:00pm)
Responsibilities
- Drive Rockwood vehicles to pick up garbage, parts, and supplies
- Perform various work orders and preventative maintenance work orders in or on residential homes and/or apartments in a timely manner
- Change filters
- Assist in annual alarm testing of houses
- Remove accumulations of snow when needed
- Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information
- Adhere to all professional standards, policy and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and staff and maintain a good working relationship with all staff
- Uphold the RRC Values in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or GED; one to three months of related work experience and/or training
- Valid driver’s license
- Multi-tasking skills
