Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to infection prevention management protocols
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures in accordance with infection control standards
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is desirable
- Knowledge of infection prevention management and aseptic techniques to uphold clinical confidentiality policies
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical records management
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and oral health care practices
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining strict infection control standards
