POSITION SUMMARY
The Deputy Marshal holds a critical role in upholding the integrity and operational continuity of the Magistrate Court. This position is primarily charged with the formal execution and service of civil and criminal process, a function essential to the timely advancement of the judicial calendar. In addition to these procedural duties, the Deputy Marshal is responsible for the physical preparation and security of the courtroom, ensuring a controlled environment for all proceedings. By providing dedicated protection for Magistrates, court personnel, legal counsel, and the public, the incumbent serves as the primary guarantor of safety within the courtroom.
Success in this capacity requires strict adherence to the regulatory frameworks established in O.C.G.A. 15-10-100 through 15-10-103 and the Uniform Magistrate Court Rules of Georgia. Given that administrative errors can significantly impede the judicial process, the Deputy Marshal must maintain a high standard of accuracy and professional diligence.
