2026 Salary: $88,530
This is a professional supervisory position involving the administration of a public health nursing
program in the Health Department. Incumbents of this position have responsibility for the provision of
nursing services and supervision of nursing practices to assure safe, effective and efficient comprehensive
nursing care in homes, clinics, schools and other community facilities. Work is performed under the
general direction of a higher level administrator. Supervision is exercised over the work of assigned
public health professionals and auxiliary nursing staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered
college or university with a Master's degree in Nursing (per NYSED
Office of the Professions – Commissioner’s Regulations Part 64.1) and
one year of paid work experience as a Public Health Nurse;
OR: (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or
university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (per NYSED Office of the
Professions – Commissioner’s Regulations Part 64.1) and 18 months of paid
work experience as a Public Health Nurse;
OR: (C) An equivalent combination of the training and experience between the limits of
(A) and (B) above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid Driver License to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at time of application,
and to maintain the position.
FINGERPRINTING:
A fingerprint supported background investigation is required before an appointment is made to some
positions. Pursuant to New York State Executive Law, the Division of Criminal Justice Services requires
that a fee accompany each such request for a search. It is due once a job offer is made and accepted by
