Why does the job exist?
This position's primary function is to be the Human Resource (HR) Liaison for the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Finance Unit. This position will be responsible for compiling to completion MVD HR actions along with monitoring, reviewing, filing and tracking these actions. The position will also provide secretarial support to the MVD Financial Manager and MVD Directors office to the Office of the Secretary as needed.
How does it get done?
This position will be responsible for:
- Compiling, building, and completing HR transactions.
- Ensuring accuracy in established processes and procedures for HR transactions and modify the processes as needed.
- Establishing and overseeing tracking mechanisms of HR transactions to ensure filling of vacant positions is aligned with vacancy rates established by funding and approved annual budget.
- Keeping Organizational Charts current on a quarterly basis and as needed.
- Collaborating with HR Bureau (HRB) to establish processes and procedures via a guide or checklist to follow for every HR transaction.
- Establishing and overseeing tracking and filing mechanisms of MVD's annual Employee Performance Assessments (EE) for all applicable employees to be in compliance with HRB and SPO requirements.
- Functioning as back up to providing administrative support to MVD senior leadership team and field operations Bureau Chiefs and other MVD managers.
- Providing quality customer service to MVD Staff and/or citizens calling into the Directors Office or incumbent's contact phone or email.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years work experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
